P7-S6 Life Walks
The summer Life Walks on many days in various locations. One of the mini pilgrimages took place with a small group exploring Lochend Woods and reflecting on God’s creation. It was precious time to notice birdsong, bugs, plants and fossils. We had the bonus of having two volunteers with a background in geology and palaeontology to add more insight to our walk. When asked ‘what would you create if you were God?’ The young people thought about a world where people did no evil. Each of them had a ball of clay to create their own creature using natures resources to accessorise them.

Life Walks are run by DACYP, and have now concluded for this year.

Visit to Nunraw Abbey

The group were welcomed and offered a tour and refreshments before joining the community for Vespers.

Knitted Bible Festival
During February, St Anne's hosted the Knitted Bible Festival. A variety of events were on offer for people of all ages. Some tried knitting, some tried felting wool, some enjoyed a cuppa and conversation, but all gained an insight into the variety of stories in the Bible.

National Church Awards
In 2023, St Anne’s was the winner in the maintenance category of the National Churches Trust’s National Church Awards.
The judges said they loved how our church had adopted a monthly maintenance plan to ensure the building is properly cared for throughout the year, and how a dedicated team of volunteers, then led by Mike Ling (pictured), had learnt new skills to keep the church in good repair and for the benefit of the local community

P7-S6 Life Bites
The Life Bites cookery programme saw young people prepare, cook and eat some very tasty meals. These included homemade chicken nuggets, rhubarb crumble, steak pie and a wonderful Biscoff cheesecake made by Sandy.
In amongst the culinary challenges, young and old have enjoyed working together and chatting together.
