AND FOR THOSE OF US WHO WILL BE PREPARING FOOD FROM HOME,
A REMINDER FROM EAST LOTHIAN COUNCIL:
Be sure to purchase food or ingredients from reputable food businesses.
Take care with personal cleanliness.
Take care with storage of food prior to preparation – refrigeration, airtight containers, keeping food covered.
Prevent cross contamination of food in your homes – keep uncooked meat and vegetables separate for instance.
When you deliver prepared food to the church, make sure it is covered, and that items that will spoil are kept cool.
Prepared food at the premises should be kept covered and refrigerated if necessary prior to serving.
Make sure that the premises we use are clean, and wipe down work surfaces at regular intervals.
Waste should be disposed of in bags in covered bins.
To serve food we should wear aprons, and handle food as little as possible.
All food should be labelled to show main ingredients and if previously frozen.
