St Anne’s Gift Day was held on Saturday 11th June 2011 in conjunction with St Anne’s Pantry. Unfortunately it was literally a wash out, with torrential rain that continued into Sunday, so attendance was low. Therefore we reprised the Gift Day on Sunday 24 July (which coincided with our Patronal day).
£1,1,60 was raised (£1,254 last year) actual giving was up but unfortunately the tax reclaimed was down by more. Anybody who was unable to attend or was unaware of the gift day can still participate by giving or sending their GIFT to John Sparksman.

The history of this event sadly reflects the sad decline in both church membership and tourism.
In the ‘good old days’ our church use to run a Summer Fete which the tourists enjoyed and which raised healthy funds for our church. However as tourism declined, and therefore the money raised, so did our congregation and the work load was becoming heavier and heavier for ever diminishing returns.
Accordingly it was decided that instead of holding a summer fete we would have a Gift Day at which members would gift at least the money they would have expended both on producing or donating items for the fete and the money they would have spent at the fete.
